Mr. Smith served on and chaired numerous Kansas Bar Association committees and has presented KBA positions on legislative matters to the Kansas Legislature.

He is past chairman of the Legislation Committee of United States Swimming and past chairman of Missouri Valley Swimming. He served on the board of directors and the advisory board of Florence Crittenton Services of Topeka.
